Delicious Dairy-Free and Eggless Chocolate Cake

I usually try to find healthy and still delicious moist desserts with the least ingredients possible so that my body doesn’t take up too long to process and digest them. Don’t get me wrong I love homemade cakes and there is nothing wrong with dairy or eggs, but I sometimes like to leave them out as so to make a healthier version; and if it tastes delicious it’s all the better. This is a great recipe if you are lactose intolerant or if you have any sort of allergies due to dairy.

This is a very simple recipe that doesn’t require much time and barely any ingredients, you should already have all of these ingredients in your cupboards so when the moment hits and you want something that tastes indulgent and sweet but healthy, you don’t have to neglect yourself of that pleasure.

My sister recently got home from work and had to bake a cake for her son and had no time to go to the grocery store so she ended up calling me I gave her this recipe and everyone loved it, now her son is 10 so to have children love it makes you know that for sure it is delicious. I hope that you enjoy it.

3 cups Flour

2 cups Sugar

6 tbsp. Dark Cocoa powder

1 tsp. Salt

2 1/2 tsp. Baking powder

1 tsp. Vanilla

1/2 cup melted Margarine

2 tbsp. Vinegar

2 cups Water

Preheat your oven at 350°.

Mix all ingredients together and pour in a buttered and floured 9×12 cake pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Simple and yummy.

    • Well, I think that you could try that out, I can’t say that I have tried it yet although if you do please let me know your outcome. I am always pleased with anything gluten-free. Happy baking and thank for stopping by Mythineats

  1. I am definately trying this cake, It looks delicious!!! I think you’re the next Giada DeLaurentis!!! Of course I’m biased.

  2. Hey, never thought of doing a vegan chocolate cake, and, after being inspired by your post, I’ll now be making one for a couple of vegan friends when I visit them at the end of the month. Have you ever used ground almonds instead of flour for this type of cake, and if so, does it come out ok? Thanks!

    • I actually haven’t done this cake with almond flour, but I have made a chocolate torte that was flour-less with almond flour the only thing is that that cake had eggs in it so it was not vegan. I would have to try to replace the flour with almond flour and see how it would turn out, I think that there would be a couple of things that I would have to change around though. If you give it a shot let me know how it turns out.

      • hey, cheers, thanks for getting back to me. Yep, I’ve also done a flourless chocolate torte-like cake but as you say that had eggs in it. Will definitely let you know how it panned out, should I attempt a flour-free version of yours! You too, happy cooking!

  3. Ok, This will be bookmarked! I have been looking for inspirations on vegan recipes since the cooking in this house has gotten a little heavy since I started blogging.

If you have a flourless cake recipe can you post it when you have time?

Can’t wait to try this recipe! NEW FOLLOWER!

    • Yes, I will post the flourless recipe soon enough as seen that quite a few of you (Mythineaters) have requested it.
I hope that you like this recipe. Happy cooking and thanks for joining Mythineats.

  4. Looks great. Once I am back on grains, I am so making it. I often make egg and dairy free recipes…because with 2 kids who love milk and eggs…I am always out or close to out of those things! I wanted to make pancakes one day when we had no milk or eggs, so I googled a recipe. Turns out they were the fluffiest pancakes ever, and now I always use that recipe, even when I the fridge is full or milk and eggs!

Thanx for dropping my FansyPantsy! Jill

    • I totally understand. Sometimes though you come across recipes and ingredients that are just so much better for your health and it turns on a switch that healthy is better.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for the support.

  5. This looks so easy! definitely will have to try! Btw you should put up a RSS button somewhere, I want to subscribe to the RSS 🙂

  6. great to have a vegan cake recip, but this is kinda heavy on sugar! 2 cups to 3 cups flour. Have you ever tried it with less sugar? or used something to replace the sugar? I’m always looking to cut out the sugar.

    • Well, I generally use raw sugar, you could probably cut it down. Or, maybe try to use a substitution. I haven’t tried it yet with a replacement but I would imagine it should turn out fine. If you do let me know how it turns out.

  7. Love the simplicity of this dessert! Sometimes healthy dessert recipes become so complicated and I never seem to have any of the ingredients on hand.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

    • I would agree with your statement. I feel like sometimes to make a healthy dessert you have to add a million more ingredients which to me is almost worse because your body then has to breakdown that much more and so much more work goes into making it. Simple is always the best.

      Thanks for stopping by mythineats
